Roz, one of our speech and language therapists, spent a lovely morning with the educators at The Early Childhood Division at Cayman International School.
The teachers and assistants were keen to learn more about the role of the speech and language therapist and then we had a brief role play exploring what it might feel like to not be able to get your message across to another person easily.
We finished with a discussion about what red flags to look out for in children, which might indicate delays in listening, attention, play, speech, language, literacy or social language skills and how and when to refer for an evaluation of these skills.
If any other schools or parent groups would be interested in this type of presentation, please let me know on 926 1693 or chatterbox@candw.ky
