Paying it Forward

Mentoring Cayman 2017/2018

This is the second year Chatterbox has participated in the Chamber of Commerce Mentoring Cayman Programme, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports, Agriculture and Lands. The programme provides participants with the opportunity to develop a long-term relationship with a mentor that has been matched by common interest and career choices.

Our mentee, Ashley Gooden, has been amazing and fitted in easily with our whole team at Chatterbox. She has spent time over the past 6 months at Chatterbox finding out more about what we do and getting some hands on experience with all of our team, as she plans to become a Psychologist.

She will stay on with us over the summer as an intern, as part of the new Chamber of Commerce Summer Youth Work Experience programme.

I am honoured to have been chosen to mentor Ashley, as she is a remarkable young woman and I hope that we stay connected for many years to come.

At Chatterbox, we believe in being part of our community and actively seek to “Pay It Forward” whenever we can.

Our Speech and Language Therapist, Roz is involved in the Chamber of Commerce Mentoring Cayman programme and is spending 6 months with her mentee, providing advice and support in all areas of their development and future career paths.

We volunteer at the Chamber of Commerce Earth Day Clean Up, as we are passionate about our beautiful environment and want to keep it clean for everyone to enjoy.

Roz volunteers with Cayman Animal Rescue Enthusiasts (C.A.R.E), as part of their Operation Grassroots Programme, helping to bring basic free healthcare to pets and advice to their owners in some of the most underprivileged areas of Cayman. She is also part of the 100+ Women Who Care programme, which is a group of women, who come together once a quarter to donate to a local charity.

We all take part in many 5K runs, which benefit various local charities and volunteer at events hosted by the Special Needs Foundation of Cayman.

Let us know if we can help out with your organisation!
